My journey began when my father was posted as an engineer in Jharkhand, in Jhumri Tilaiya. Wanting to provide me with quality education and an environment for all-round development, he sent me to Carmel Convent in Giridih. Growing up, I was rarely alone in public, which I understood as love and protection until adolescence revealed deeper restrictions.
We were never educated about the ways to stay safe or set boundaries. Saying no could come at the cost of respect. Learning to navigate intrusive looks and words became a personal skill because elders rarely discussed these issues openly.
From Training to Purpose
After becoming a fashion designer and a mother, I decided to learn to stand up for myself. I travelled to Israel and learnt Krav Maga and KAPAP, self-defence systems associated with Israeli training. It was a gruelling experience that strengthened me to my core and revealed the value of introducing children to safety early in life.
Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up with confidence, courage, and grounded dignity.
